THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULLY BOOKED.

Wales is a ‘hotspot’ for mosses and liverworts, so come and join expert bryologist Lucia Ruffino on a journey through the marvels of the “miniature forests”.

They might be small and inconspicuous to the naked eye, but when you get up close and personal with these little plants, they have a beauty all of their own and an important role to play in the ‘economy of nature’.

Learn how to distinguish between the major groups of mosses, liverworts and hornworts, and we will make an excursion into the woods at Treborth Botanic Garden to explore the microflora with the aid of a hand lens.

Come and discover that it really is: “the little things that make the World go round”!

The event is a mixture of indoor and outdoor learning, so come prepared with suitably warm and waterproof clothing and footwear.

The workshop is FREE to attend, but please email treborth@bangor.ac.uk to book a place. Places limited to 12.

This course is delivered as part of the Growing the Future project at Treborth Botanic Garden. This project has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.
